about me

Passionate, curious, adventurous…..and tech-obsessed.

I’ve always known that I want to make a dent in the universe.

I believe reality is whatever you want it to be, and happiness is a choice.

My zest for life and curiosity to try new things has lead me around the globe, across different jobs, study and activities.

From trekking to Mount Everest Base Camp in Nepal or volunteering at TEDxColumbia during my time at the University of South Carolina, I continue to push myself outside of my comfort zone.

I graduated from QUT with a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) and Fine Arts (Interactive & Visual Design) in 2020. I am obsessed with the intersection between liberal arts and technology.

In Brisbane, I worked at The Content Division, a content marketing agency and Strong Web Design, a web agency.

I moved to Sydney in 2019 with an Editorial & Content Traineeship at Apple ANZ. Now, I work at eBay Australia as a Graduate.

Outside of my 9-5, I am a freelance writer and graphic designer, I manage digital marketing campaigns for my family businesses and I volunteer as a Surf Lifesaver.

On the weekends I enjoy surfing, thrift shopping and meditation.

What I do

I have diverse work experience in digital marketing, project management and graphic design. This has driven my passion for working in teams and driving creative solutions.

During my time at Apple in their ANZ headquarters, I gained incredible experience in digital services (think Apple Music, App Store, Apple TV), business partnerships, visual design, marketing and analytic teams. Plus major exposure to the tech and music industry, attending events like Vogue Codes and The ARIA Awards.

After 3 years at Apple, I was excited to take on a new challenge at eBay. As a Graduate I get the incredible opportunity to work with 3 unique teams during my program. First in Marketing and now in Export and Monetisation.

Design – starting as a freelance designer in 2015, I developed my skills across graphic design software like Adobe Creative Suite and Procreate on iPad. I use these skills almost everyday to help create sharp, visual presentations, corporate t-shirt designs or even conceptualisation and storyboarding.

Marketing – My passion for marketing, content and customers has evolved from my experience in content marketing and web design agencies, at Apple and now in the Retail Marketing team at eBay. I have worked on end-to-end campaign management, digital & social ads, strategy and planning.

Side projects – I am drawn to things that keep my mind active and challenged outside of my traditional work environment. I love to work on side-hustles and found myself writing articles on the latest marketing, digital and video trends for a startup Clipchamp and various graphic design projects. I also work on all of the Digital Marketing campaign for my family businesses in fitness and cafe. I am drawn to things that keep my mind active and challenged outside of my traditional work environment.

What people say about me

I have worked with Mackenzie for over three years at Apple and during that time she has always displayed an enthusiastic and passionate can-do attitude in which nothing is ever too much or too hard - she is always eager to do whatever is needed to achieve a task. Mackenzie and I have worked together across a number of teams and she is both a great team player and team leader, able to influence a team and change course in a politically savvy and charismatic manner. Mackenzie is also very creatively inclined and is a go-to resource for me when I am looking to get feedback on the design or layout of a project I am working on and she is able to give feedback in a constructive and meaningful way. Mackenzie is a great asset to any team she works in and brings a willingness to learn, participate and achieve with her wherever she goes.

Mackenzie consistently stunned me with energy, ingenuity, and positive attitude. No matter what setting Mackenzie is placed in, I am confident she will succeed because of her ability to be a terrific and contributing team member.

If I had to sum Mackenzie’s personality into three words it would be: Enthusiastic, Hard-Working and Go-Getter! I had the pleasure of working alongside Mackenzie during my time at QUT. She is incredibly creative, dedicated to every project she takes on and will be an absolute asset to any team she joins in the future. I feel incredibly lucky to have crossed paths with her, and I’m sure you will feel the same way too.

Mackenzie's unique combination of marketing and visual design is very useful in developing graphics as part of my service design projects. Mackenzie was also a very capable presenter and interacted comfortably with clients in a very professional manner. I would recommend her to any employer.
